Emerald of the Grasslands

Commission for *vtforpedro. The only criteria was an emerald-colored dragon with red-gold eyes and a lethal-looking spade in a grassland, so I got to go crazy with it and make it up myself.

Hi Rah! I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work in a post called May Birthstone Dragons II by Various Artists on my dragon artwork blog (with proper attribution and links back, of course). I love this piece and the detail in the link is fantastic too! You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here. Keep up the great work!

I'm not sure if it's rock or cloud, but it's the middle section of what look like the three sections or rock just to the right of the wing... it looks like a gorillas face in brief outline... it actually is very cool, I think, it gives an exotic feeling to the whole piece (which is incredibly beautiful by the way - have you done any professional work yet? I think I might hire you in the future when I have my big project underway, let alone still actually get a copy of the piece you made for me...) I'm very obsessed with images-inside-images, so I tend to see them even if people don't mean to put them there. I think your style does that -very- naturally... I'm trying to find this image by a guy named Hans-Werner Sahm on the internet that demonstrates really beautifully what I'm talking about... it's literally hanging on the wall right next to me, but I can't find it on the internet to show you, and I don't have a camera... Bah, well anyway! I thought it was very enticing. Always makes me happy to see new work from you

I'm not sure what you mean by "professional work." If you mean doing artwork for money then yes, I do! I'm closed right now but I open for commissions once in a while.
Have you heard of Bev Doolittle? She specializes in that sort of "hidden image" flavor. Her work is quite fabulous. Here's her webpage: [link]

Hahaha, no, you didn't offend me at all. No worries!
Actually, I've been sending in applications to studios but haven't heard back from them. Doing freelance is fun but doesn't pay very well at all... I'd probably make more working part-time at McDonalds. So, I'm looking for a "real" job but doing freelance art in the meantime.
