Albert Stannard - ship builder by rageofreason Albert Stannard - ship builder by rageofreason
Albert Stannard builds tiny ships into small lamps (2.5 millimeter) and bottles. This is an airbrush portrait on Schoellershammer airbrush board. It was a demo for Bakker Graphic Supplies to introduce a new airbrush pistol, the Fischer Aerostar. A magnificent tool, that was far too expensive and exotically constructed. The portrait was sprayed in 8 hours during the night. The show was the next day. Paint: Rotring Acrylic Ink. View more of my analog art at: [link]

Wow! The detail in this is amazing and beautiful. I love the serenity of your focal character. This combines with the monochromatic environment... makes me feel very peaceful. Great work! *fav*

Truly masterful work here especially given the time.
Is taht a stencilled signature, if so how did you manage to cut it?

Two (rather thick) loose transparent acrylic masks were used, one for the separation of sea / air, the other one for the front of the face. They were overhead sheet A4's taped together cut out with a knive. The rest is freehand airbrush. The signature was written with with a marker; had no time to do it properly. Didn't sleep that night and had to go straight to the show to make it in time, because they only gave me the assignment the afternoon before. It reflects the old signature I used when my artist name was Libre. Thank you for your kind words. Take care,

Chris
