I guess technically this is fanart of H.P. Lovecraft's nightgaunt creatures, but really, this is fan art inspired by my favourite book (IDLEWILD by Nick Sagan), which includes nightgaunts. Although my interpretation of the nightgaunt's look was vaguely inspired by the ever-so-awesome artist here [link]

Supposedly 'gaunts are strange other-worldly creatures that fly and have no faces, and even though they look freaky, they actually are relatively harmless.
