2012 January (#3)I saw the two men standing in front of what I assumed was the room Marlene was in. There was a third with them; they were arguing quietly. I managed to hear the words 'princess,' 'ransom,' 'hurry,' and 'lunacy.' The last word came from the third man. I did not know how the imbeciles managed such a feat, but it appeared that the princess had been kidnapped.
I needed to hear no more. My blood began to boil. How could they capture the princess of their own country? How could that take the rose from her garden? I flung aside my marketplace robe, drew my sword, and issued that they fight like men. The third man fled, leaving his two comrades to face me. One cowered in a corner while the other fumblingly drew a shabby sword.
He was no swordsman, nor did he keep his sword in good condition. It was a short encounter and I am ashamed to have crossed blades with such a lesser skilled man.
However, when he appeared beat, his associate flung himself upon me. He must have had a dagger hidden in the

"I was in Palas, the capital of Asturia, for a meeting with King Aston to review the treaty between our countries. I was on my way "
"Momma always says 'The mysterious, intriguing capital, Pallas.'"
" But you asked me to tell the story. I saw a different side of the tale. I am Freidian, your mother is Asturian. Let me tell the tale."
"I was on my way to visit the marketplace when two young men caught my eye. They were not ostentatious they did not stand out, but I had a feeling that they were up to something. I dismissed my guards, bought a colored robe to hide myself, and followed them.
They followed the main streets for several miets and I almost lost them a few times. Eventually they ducked into an alleyway and then into a shabby looking building. By their clothes they appeared to be lower middle class but they clearly did not belong into such a building.
I was perplexed at how to enter the building without
2012 January (#1)How I Met Your Mother Part One
Mahad swept silently through the halls of the palace on his way towards their - his - bedroom. It was late and most of the candles had long ago been extinguished. He sighed in longing as he opened the door to his empty chambers. His eyes lingered on the large portrait of his late bride; it had been painted just after their wedding day.
She'd been so beautiful
He'd loved her from the moment he'd met her and Marlene Aston had gained even more beauty as the days passed.
And then she'd told him she was pregnant with another man's child. Her guard, the Caeli, back in Asturia. Mahad had seen the fear in her eyes; he, as the ruler of a foreign country, could dishonor her and destroy her life. But the duke loved her, no matter her past actions.
The Duke pushed away his thoughts as he readied himself for bed.
Mahad turned quickly in his bed, fist at the ready to defend himself against the intruder in his room. His eyes widened as he recognize
ZW 08: 4 - Manipulative"How did we get stuck doing it like this again?" Katara asked, slowly maneuvering their little raft through the boiling water.
Zuko shrugged. "Sokka mentioned that if we really wanted to attempt to take down the Fire Nation, we needed more than two Water Tribe kids, a banished Fire Nation Prince, the flaming Avatar, and the 'World's Greatest Earthbender' to do it. Then everyone rattled off allies to find: Haru, Suki, and whatever Freedom Fighters wanted to join. Those were deemed easy enough to find and recruit, so it was suggested that we tackle releasing Ty Lee and Mai from the Boiling Rock first. Toph suggested it would be easier to plan a rescue mission from the most tightly-locked prison the Fire Nation boasts first, while we had less people to organize."
"Huh." A long pause, then "It feels like Toph manipulated the whole arrangement to me."
Another shrug. He didn't mind.
Neither did Katara.
Ok, Zuko minded a little. Here he was, attempting to rescue his forme
Happy Birthday JamesonHappy Birthday Jameson!!! This is a little late, but I wanted to give you something as a 'thank you' for my lovely commissions.
"C'mon Siren, I've been telling you for years that you can't catch me and you can't! How many times do I have to prove it to you?" Dryden smirked his trademark grin and dashed out of the Fassa mansion, cherry tart in hand. Even at fourteen years of age, he was still rambunctious and almost devilishly mischievous.
But if he could still call her 'Siren,' Jaime could still call him 'Imp,' she hollered after him. "I will get you; I will I will I will!!!" Ten-year-old Jaime called after him, trying to dodge out of the door behind him without letting the heaven wood smack her. She chased after him into the Fassa gardens around the back of the house.
Dryden somehow managed to scale the tree with his tart intact. It had always baffled Jaime and Dryden hadn't ever understood it either, but climb a tree with a treat
ZW 11: 5 - AwkwardZuko arrived back at camp shortly behind Mai. He glanced at Katara over a large cooking pot over the fire, sniffed, and wondered what she was making. He walked over and asked.
The Waterbender shrugged. "I'm just mixing together some different vegetables and herbs that I found out in the forest. I'm hoping that Sokka will bring back some meat and I'll have a sort of stew ready."
"Oh. Sounds great. When will it be ready?"
She shrugged again. "Whenever Sokka brings back the meat or whenever he brings back himself."
They both laughed and Zuko turned to make his way to his tent to retrieve clean clothes and soap to go take a bath. He nearly ran into Toph behind him. "What are you looking at?" She was giving him some sort of look Like she knew something he didn't and wasn't sure what to make it. Her milky blue eyes seemed to dart from him to Katara and then back.
Zuko's eyes darted to the Water Tribe girl.
"Ok Toph." Katara continued to stir t
ZW 08: 3 - SmugSmug. That was the word that Katara found to define Azula. The Fire Nation Princess no, the Fire Lord was full of herself and haughty. Conceited and 'superior' and self-satisfied. Arrogant and self-righteous. That was Azula in a leechi nutshell.
Today, like the few days before, the Fire Lord was in Katara's cell trying to get information from her. 'Where is Zuzu, where is your little band of misfits, where is Uncle, how did you find out about the eclipse and the comet?' Her questions were never ending and Katara was getting sick of hearing them. The first day she had spat at Azula and sworn to never break nor reveal information.
Azula had smugly reminded the Water Tribe woman that her child was many levels above in the palace, being treated by a nurse. The only reason she was still alive was that her bending capabilities were unknown. The Fire Lord's eyes had turned up in malicious mirth and stated that wouldn't it be wonderful if daughter were rais
ZW 11: 4 - Secret"No Aang, you have to hold your arms like this," Katara instructed the Airbender. "Then you move them like this and hold them like this." She repeated the motion several times. Aang nodded mutely.
Ever since the day of the Comet and his failed attempt to defeat and destroy Ozai, he had been almost the opposite of himself. Before, Aang had been all smiles and laughs and jokes. Now He'd failed and he had been broken. He was quiet and a lot more meditative and reclusive. There were some nights that only Toph could find him and even then just barely.
Katara worried about her friend.
She found herself worried about the world and their gang and herself. Aang was pulling away from them, away from her. He no longer chattered with her like he had. When they trained, his mind was in it but not his heart. His eyes would look at her, he would go through the motions, but it was almost as if he was a puppet rather than a human being.
Aang was leaving them, leaving her, and Katara was wo
