Awakening the Inferno by RachBurns Awakening the Inferno by RachBurns
Finally have the finished thing. Yiii...only happened after tornadoes. *won't whine*

Pleased with the background, finally, and it's a lot better than that white.

I love the way you made the fire--I am quite sure you put a lot of effort into making it real. :D I could never draw fire, LOL. It looks great, the way you made it. :)

I had to have a lot of help from people before it was actually 'glowing' like fire was, so plenty of credit to them. Though I was taught a neat way to figure out how things should work--look at the picture in black and white, and then a picture of actual fire in black and white so you can see what parts need lightened/darkened more.

Oh man, that fire was a mess and a half. First it was just plain yellow, do you have trouble getting the light and dark bits too?
And thankee about the hair comment, stars that was a fit.

Thanks!

I love the different layers here!! you can tell a lot of work went into it :)
The texture in the flames is very good, and I like the dark figure in the background

The feller in the background is supposed to be someone controlling the fire that the one up front doesn't really know about at the moment, hence the darkness around him.

Thank you!

Well, I'm seeing a lot of yellow colors for the body of the flames, but not enough red and/or orange colors. Adding these colors can help make the flame look more visually stunning (therefore creating more (color) contrast). I like how you put details in the flames, but they don't seem to stand out well enough...

How you should do the above, I can't really say since I have not drawn any flames for a long time. However, it would be very useful to use a photo or video reference when reworking the flames.

So doing that would bring more shadows and light to the characters behind it, if it were a real fire and real characters.

I'll definitely go back and do that, thank you so much.

The form of the flames look good. I see you put in a good amount of effort to make them look realistic as possible. If only the flames are brighter and that they illuminate the scene more...

The characters themselves look alright. However, they don't seem to create a very strong impact for me at first glace. If only the contrast and lighting on them are a bit brighter...

How would you suggest to make the contrast and flames brighter? I worked on this one with this computer, I still have the file. And thank you so much for the tips. ^^
