The Beginner (Gil)

- (expressions) Gil is not one to express their emotions all that often. Not that it’s intentional, they have a rich inner world, they’re just not very good at showing it. Social situations aren’t really their forte, which expression to have for which situation isn’t immediately apparent to them most of the time, and they suck at reading others, so they just don’t bother. These are an example of the few expressions you might bear witness to. Gil always finds ways to prove themselves, be that scaling a cliff or sorting spoons. You could be doing the most mundane thing beside them simultaneously, and suddenly they’ll get a fire in their eyes. Unbeknownst to you, you’ve entered a contest. Don’t worry, they’re a good sport, and besides a huff of pride after winning (pictured above) they don’t gloat. Because Gil is bad at socializing, their battery runs dry quickly. Once they’ve decided they don’t want to deal with you, they grimace, click their tongue and refuse to cooperate. At that point it’s their way or the highway, and nothing will stop them.

- (hobby) Coming from the desert, Gil always had a fascination and respect with how some things will grow no matter how harsh the environment. They could never manage to keep any alive though, save for some hardy species, so they’ve resorted to just pressing them. This is much easier anyways, and it eventually starts to come in handy when their interests turn to medicine.
