Description
This is Mala. She's a sorceress, or Iyiti, to use the Naomian term, of two traditions...the Naomian "Iyi", and the Doho "Haix." Her race is Ya'a Naomi. It resembles a cross between the human and the raccoon, but is neither. As for ethnicity, she's a Diha...which is their term for a female Doho. She wears all manner of charms and jewelry, as well as a crown of leaves and flowers. She also has special leather gauntlets, that have holes in them through which she channels magical force ("Iyi" in Naomian) to form those Wolverine-esque claws you see. As is the Doho custom, she keeps her tail underneath her gown, rather than having it through a hole (as Naomian women would do). She moved to the Earth around the time of the Decimation, and became a hero there. Adopting something from the "culture" of many of earth's heroes....she has a loud flashy logo, incorporating both a traditional Doho symbol, and initials, for "Diha Marvel."
Thanks to Showstopper, he and I share a universe with many stories in it, the Decimation was his idea. Also, the weird symbol, and the words "Doho" and "Diha" are from...a series of short animations on Sesame Street that had weird patterns while Phillip Glass music played (and one of his "Songs" had a chant of "Doho doho doho doho doho doho doho doho Diha diha diha diha diha diha diha diha", or something like that. I assume that symbol is not a trademarked logo by any company. If it's a symbol of an actual culture, I apologize for not being able to acknowledge it here due to ignorance.
I don't have much of a story about her yet, but I felt inspired to draw her.
