I started this account 6 years ago- I was eleven
I've had no problems with that matter, (though I never mentioned my age in the first place) and I often felt pretty flattered when
I figured out that someone who was even fourteen admired my work. With that said, If I learned that I was losing watchers simply
because of my age (cause it made them uncomfortable), I'd feel kinda bad. I mean, it's a little unfair haha
With that said; if you know you are following someone solely for their skill, why is age suddenly a factor? You can like their work, you don't need
to like them

The reason I don't want to follow kids online is because of experiences with adults I myself had when I was a kid. I can indeed like their work without liking them, but THAT being said: i dont know about you but I care a lot for the person behind the art. If the artist is young, I'd indeed support them to continue doing what they love, but my own feelings for what feels right must be taken into consideration.
I am 18. I am an adult. It's my responsibility that kids feel above all SAFE on social media.
When I was younger, I often spoke with adults about art, characters, stuff I in general just like talking about. Always harmless. But how many times haven't I felt cheated and used by the adults in question. Often sexually.
It's EASY to manipulate people who are younger than you and also look up to you, even if you intend to or not.
Even though I know I would never do such a thing, I feel responsible to give people younger than me a sense of safety. To me, that meant and means keeping away from people who are way younger than me.
It makes me uncomfortable, makes me feel creepy, and reminds me of what has been done to me and how I have been used.
Even though it's just a simple watch, it gives me a feeling of discomfort.
That is reason enough.

I quite frankly don't care if it feels unfair to lose watchers because young age. I think it's reasonable. The fact that adults stay away from kids online actually makes me a bit happy!

You say these things as if being manipulated as a child (sexually) hasn't
happened to me at all. It has. Just not on the internet, as I stayed anonymous because I knew
I'd be judged and my artistic skill would be undermined due to my age
But the point I'm trying make is; if you know personally that you aren't harmful and do just
like someones work, then continue to watch them- encourage them even
Not every adult is out to get you, you are an example of this, you don't wish to harm
But you are indirectly discouraging young artists, whether you view it that way or not.
Let me just wrap this up by saying; not all children are ignorant and not all adults are evil

Obviously not all kids are ignorant and all adults evil. But there are evil adults. That was enough for me as a kid to feel uncomfortable and scared when adults spoke with me online. Not everyone has the same experience, but I'm acting on what I think is right. Even if I know personally that I wouldn't harm anyone doesn't mean other people will, especially if younger people such as myself when I was younger would feel uncomfortable and like I couldn't voice this discomfort.
But me not watching someone, how is that me putting down an artist? Im not obliged to follow anyone online, and I alone chose who I follow. Wether I chose to not watch someone because I don't agree with them, think theyre gross, or that I generally just feel uncomfortable with watching someone because of other reasons (such as age), is completely my choice. You can encourage people to make art without following them.

I admit that stuff can seem a little creepy but I think it can be kid's only way to get their art out in the world and feel like someone actually cares about it.

Oh man mood.

Admittedly I made my first account before I turned 13 but now that I'm grown I understand the uncomfortable feeling ??
I often click away from the page when I come across a super young artist hsshsjssjsh.

Wtf they can get banned in seconds
Staff is really adamant about kids using their website when they aren't allowed to, perhaps report them?

dont feel bad, its their fault they didn't obey the rules, this way they will get their account back once they either prove they are overage, or until they turn 13, so its not permanent

you did the right thing hun
