I am happy to announce that my first firefly movie is online and for all to see : fav.me/d4m71fb
The opportunity arose Japan, as the fireflies were put free during a ceremony in a temple in Kyoto. Since the temple grounds were lit, i had a bright enough background for a movie.
Some time ago I was on a business trip to Japan and was able to add some days as vacation. During that time I was pretty lucky to see some ceremony in a temple Kyoto where monks have collected some fireflies beforehand and let them fly in the evening. Now some of the pics I took there can be found in my firefly folder: quit007.deviantart.com/gallery…
Just wanted to let you know how I process my firefly images. I uploaded two crops of an upcoming image I'm still working on in my scrapbook to show you how I reduce the noise: quit007.deviantart.com/gallery…
One of them is a shot out of cam at ISO 3200 and the other one showns an averaged image over 18 such exposures.
At last, I finished processing first pics from my from my nightly shoots of firflies from this summer. Hopefully, I will be able to show you some more in the day to come...
