Wow! Suicide doors! Those are rare to find in any condition.

I don't think they did for more than that year. Sense this is a '48, it likely was a design hold over from before the war. I know Dodge Brothers did more war production than cars from '40 to '46.

Until I saw her, I had no idea that Dodge ever made a car with suicide doors.

The '48 was a continuation of the basic design first introduced in 1940. And you're right, like most American car makers, Dodge concentrated on war production between 1942 and 1945. There's a good web site describing the year by year evolution of this line: [link]

Well the price explains why they haven't turned up on Rusty Ironmongers! Egad! :jawdrop:

I was considering adding the pics I have of these two to Mark's page, just for grins and giggles.

Damn, they look cool, but the rear axel of the 4 door is kind of fucked up.
I bet it aint cheap to fix it...

I talked to the owner. She's not cheap to buy, either. But she could be a real beauty if someone had the wherewithall to restore her.

What would the price be?

I think he said $1500 for the four-door by itself. Note that the engine isn't working on it either. $2500 to buy both, and the owner said that the 2-door was drivable when he parked it. I have no idea how long ago that was.
