44 Quiche Loraine by QuicheLoraine 44 Quiche Loraine by QuicheLoraine
My 44th year in the world...I'm 22 a second time (: I had attempted to do this in Illustrator, and I made the mistake of not reducing my reference photo and vector to a more manageable size first, and Illustrator crashed twice (thankfully I repetitively saved), and when I attempted to resize it once I was finished, it did not scale my Gaussian blurs/feathering, resulting in one big blur. I even tried saving in SVG and pulling it up in Inkscape, but the file must have gotten corrupted since it was acting buggy in Inkscape too.

I redid this is Inkscape (resized my ref photo first), and only had one hick-up. It turned out better, smoother blurs (far superior quality than Ai), and the specular lighting filter really did a superb job for the highlights in my hair. Inkscape handles hyper-realistic, overly detailed vectors and filters far better than Ai...heck, far better filters too... and thank goodness for auto recovery...which Ai only recently added with CS6...I have CS5!
