The QuestingRaven, aka Chris Hunsberger is a self taught illustrator and father of four aspiring artists.
Chris hales from a small city in Northern Indiana, where he lives children. Elkhart has been called the Crossroads of America and the RV capital of the world. For Chris and family it is home, where he has worked at the local library for over twenty years. Responsibilities there include handling the public, designing posters and bookmarks, and previously operating the offset print shop.
Employed as the Graphic Artist of the local Library, his passion has always been drawing. Chris’ mother always said that he was borne with pencil and paper in hand. Chris self published two comic books shortly after graduating high school, and has been steadily receiving illustration commissions. His work has appeared in small press publications of role-playing game guides, web comics, and fan sites.
Chris currently hold an Associate’s degree in graphic design, and had until recently, been working toward a Bachelor’s degree in the field as well. Recently Chris took the plunge and shifted schooling toward a degree that will take advantage of his passion and talents.
Aside from spending time with his family, Chris enjoys online role-playing games, reading, writing fantasy fiction, and, of course, drawing. His artistic influences include Barry Windsor-Smith, Alphonse Mucha, Frank Frazetta, and Jim Lee, though this is just a short list. In the past few years, Chris has been experimenting with digital illustration techniques, but still prefers traditional drawing methods. He also employs other media including acrylics, color pencil, and marker.
