Peacock Spider (drawing)

Traditional drawing of a Peacock spider (Maratus Personatus). I was in the right mood to draw an animal and to practice blurred parts, so I chose another plushy jumping spider. Who can resist those cute and innocent eyes? oOOo :D
And don't be afraid... This spider is very, very small: www.flickr.com/photos/59431731…

If you want to see this cute little species in action (dancing) take a look at this video on his Youtube channel: youtu.be/1lsRilcqkO8

Paper DIN A4 190g/m² (size of the drawing = 15,2cm x 15cm); Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils, Copic Ciao and Sketch marker, uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white; time: ~8 hours

Your work is amazingly photorealistic. I love the sharp contrast in color!

Wow, looking at it from a distance or in a smaller frame, I was actually fooled at first to think that was a photo. But, I really love the tools you used to make this. I have never seen anything so realistic before in my life. I honestly have no idea how you do it so well. :)

She/he is fabulous!  I have a whole e-file of beautiful spiders, including a number of different types of Peacock Spiders, but I have never thought to draw them...how strange is that?  Confused I cannot hold a match to your beautiful work but I will have fun creating my own little spider.  Also, I really like your idea of having a To Draw list and prioritizing the drawings.  I hope you do not mind if I use your idea for myself - I do not intend to put it on my site like you do, but I think it will help me to organize my drawings by getting them out of my head where they buzz around all wanting to be done now - I end up with several drawings on the go and seem to never get any finished! You talk too much! Sorry, I do tend to go on about things.  I thoroughly enjoy your work!  :)

No worries! A "to draw list" is always good for collecting new ideas (and if you're forgetful like me sometimes...)! :)
