Loki (mixed media) step by step

Description

A little tutorial for my latest drawing "Loki (mixed media)".

I photographed the steps 1-13 with my Canon EOS 600D (EOS Rebel T3i) without flash. I took the pictures under different light conditions, so the colours look some kind of weird between a few steps.
Step 14 is the scan. My scanner messed up the colours (especially the background and the skin colour), contrast and everything else again! Flippin' Tables

Please don't upload my pictures somewhere else without my permission. Don't infringe copyright!

Here is the finished drawing and a colour pencil tutorial for more details (face colouring):

Here is my working process for this drawing:
Sorry in advance for all the mistakes (It would have been much more easier to write this in german!).

First off here my equipment (see picture):
- a printed reference picture (edited in photoshop, because screencaps are often too dark!) and laptop to zoom in the details
- paper A4 (210x297mm, 190 g/m²)
- Faber-Castell pencil HB
- Faber-Castell Perfection 7057/7056 (eraser pencil), eraser, colour pencil sharpener, set square
- Faber-Castell watercolour pencils Albrecht Dürer
- Copic Ciao (C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7, 100, E50, G07)
- Copic Multiliner SP 0.03
- Edding 1800 profipen (0.1, 0.3, 0.5)
- Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils
- Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Soft 101
- uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white

step 1: For this drawing I've used the grid method (forgot to take a picture, before I erased the lines...) for a few parts (outlines!) to get the right proportions, I measured the distances of important parts as well (e.g. eye distance) on the reference and added a few shadows to check if everything is alright. Then I erased everything and drew it properly (don't press to hard!).
step 2: I started to colour the background with watercolour pencils, because it was the first time that I've used them (forgot to take picture before I used water...).
step 3: I blurred the background with water.

Face
step 4: Base colouring of the face with marker (Copic Ciao "E50") and a few green details of his outfit ("G07")
step 5: Then I added a few shadows with colour pencils ("light flesh 132", "cinnamon 189", "medium flesh 131", "venetian red 190", "pompein red 191", "nougat 178", "walnut brown 177") and started with the eyes and the mouth
step 6: First blending of the skin colours and background colour for the hair (colour pencils)
step 7: More colour pencil layers for the face and hair (-> black Copic multiliner and colour pencils)

Body
step 8: Base colouring of the outfit with grey Copic Ciao markers (I erased the pencil lines a little bit, before I started!)
step 9: When the Copic marker base colours were dry I added black shadows and details with black Copic marker, black Copic multiliner and black Edding profipen.
step 10: First layers of black, grey and white colour pencil on the grey marker base colour (see especially leather shoulder part on the right side).
step 11 and 12: More details and colour for the outfit (leather: blue effects) + colour for the metallic parts with colour pencil.
step 13: Colouring of the last parts with colour pencil, black details with Copic multiliner and white details with Pitt Pastel (because it covers better than "white 101" on colour pencil layers) + uni-ball Signo for little white spots (I made the lines/points smaller and defined them with colour pencil)
step 14: Last details. And Contrast + blending of the face (with "light flesh 131" and "white 101"). Scan (edit the picture in Photoshop CS5: cut out the border, brightness/contrast and colour balance if the colours are wrong) and throw the scanner out of the window, because it messed up everything irreparably (joke!?). ;)
