Traditional drawing of the Victoria sculpture on the Victory Column in Berlin.
I chose this reference a few months ago, because I wanted to practice drawing "gold/metall". I'm not that good with words, so a few days ago I decided to finally start this drawing. It still makes me very sad what happened in Berlin... two days ago I visited a christmas market and still had an uncomfortable feeling.
So I dedicate this drawing to the victims and also all the other people who died this year.

Reference was a photo that I took in Berlin (2013).

Paper DIN A4 190g/m²; Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils, Copic Ciao and Sketch marker, Copic Multiliner 0.05, uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white; time: ~10 hours?

Please don't upload my pictures somewhere else without my permission. Don't infringe copyright!

Here are some other traditional drawings:

Jaw droping as always... my brain still don"t understand how is it possible to draw what looks like gold color with a pencil....

Forgive me for taking so long to write this; I'm so sorry for what had happened in Berlin. 2016 was just portfolio of horrendous events. :( My thoughts and prayers go to your country, the victims, and their friends + family.

So, onto one of my many future attempts to try make 2017 a year of love + positivity, let's talk about this art shall we? How many different 'materials' have I said you do so outstandingly realistic? Cloth, Skin, Hair, and of course Metal. But look at the style of this Gold! LOOK AT IT! This drawing could be worth the statue's weight in Gold (daft pun out of my system :P). I look at the sheen, shading, and texture and am left in utter disbelief that this isn't a photograph with the background missing. There's magic at work here!

I'm never going to let go of my "Quelchii is a Sorceress" Theory, am I? ;p

Hopefully 2017 is going to be better! So let's try to think positive. :)

Thank you so much! :tighthug:

Great job! For some reason, gold's a bugger ... same with paint programs. Whatsamatter with this stuff?
Thx for the kind words, too ... It saddened me immensely. It was kinda encouraging and comforting how calm and non-hysterical the population took it, too (unlike some politicians; they're a different bunch).
I actually took some comfort from Charlie Hebdo's caricatures. I'm a sick person. :-o (Eek)

Thank you very much! :) Also ich finde so kleine Herausforderungen immer wieder toll.

Mal abwarten, was der Donald anstellt. :D

Naja.

Casablanca auch nie vollständig What a shame! Emoticon

Wie fandest Du The Thing?
Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China gucken!

Lol! Casablanca habe ich auch nur halb gesehen! :D

Also ich fand The Thing richtig gut.

:o (Eek)
