UPDATE: the contest ended! Thank you all for your awesome entries! Now I need some time to pick a winner. Stay tuned!
Hello again!
Not so long ago I asked if anyone would be interested in a dragon-themed contest. I got a good response, so here it is!
The theme
Dragons, obviously, but not just any dragon...
Show me what you would look like as dragon AND what you would do in that form!
For example, I'd be a dark starry nebula dragon who breathes molten hotglue because that would be sooooo useful when I'm crafting costumes. I hate waiting for my gluegun to heat up. But that's just me, now I want to see your dragon form!
The prize
Paperbacks, signed by the author, of the Lilith trilogy (in Dutch or English) by Kim ten Tusscher.
Kim is a Dutch author (and an awesome person ). I really like her work, and since I have a spare set of the trilogy, I want to make someone else happy with it.
The books follow Lilith, a young dragon shapeshifter who gets stuck in a religious war. Lilith in her dragon form is terribly powerful, and therefore quite a handy weapon for the warring parties. Because of this, she has been abducted as a child and raised (well, downright abused) by a manipulative prophet/sorcerer. When she realises that man is not quite the father figure, and the acts of aggression she does for him become too severe, she decides to take control of her own life. That's easier said than done; another sorcerer sees her as a valuable asset too. Is she able to escape both of them, stop a god, of all things, and bring peace to the world (and herself)?
*incoming epic book trailer of epicness*
You can find Kim's books on amazon or at her publisher.
Rules
- You can enter as often as you want.
- All forms of art are accepted, including literature and crafts, as long as it fits the theme.
- I'll pick a winner based on effort and creativity, not skill. Bonus points will go to people who explain why their design looks like this, and why they want to do a certain activity as a dragon.
- The dragon can come in any shape and size. Its number of limbs, type of coat, and who-knows-what is up to you. Just don't get so creative it is no longer recognised as a dragon
- I'm not looking for reference sheets; I want to see what you would do as a dragon, after all. But you are free to make them as an additional file for extra information.
- Everyone can enter, no matter how far away you live. Shipping costs for the books are included.
No rules, but a kind request
- It would be super awesome if you could check out Kim on social media. She's KimtenTusscher on Instagram and you can find her and her work in this group here on facebook (I think that's the best place to go for non-Dutch speakers. Those lucky enough to speak that oh so beautiful language can befriend her here ).
- If you win, can you give Kim a review on goodreads or amazon once you've read her books, please? Reviews feed authors, after all! Even a few words will do!
- Following me is appreciated too, in case you don't know me yet
- Sharing is caring! Please, share this contest with your followers or tag people you think might be interested.
How to submit
- Tag me in your submission AND post a link to it below. Then I'm sure I can't miss it.
- Alternatively, you can submit an entry on Instagram. Tag me (queen_of_eagles) AND use the hashtag #dragonshift2winlilith. If you want, you can tag KimtenTusscher too, I'm sure she'll like to see what you've created.
Deadline
you'll have roughly two months. The contest ends on March 8. I repeat, March 8!
Okay, I think that's it.
Good luck to you all, and come to me if you have any questions! Also, have some fan art from Lilith's world to get inspired:

#1linewed - theme: REVENGE
House renovations are still going on, so I'm afraid I won't be able to post regularly here... Wanna see what an asbestos removal looks like? MY ART/SNIPPETS I don't have anything. Enjoy my asbestos photo instead :') ART FEATURE LAST WEEK'S
#1linewed - theme: OCCULT
Sorry for the late post, the new house is still far from done... But I'm happy to say that the ceiling I shared last time has been covered up and is halfway the painting stage :) MY ART/SNIPPETS Pff, I don't know... Maybe this one? ART FEATURE LAST WEEK'S (well, last whatever...) Share your art/snippets that fit the theme and be featured in the next journal! (Whenever that may happen...)
#1linewed - theme: PUZZLE
sorry, late again. Blame the house renovations... MY ART/SNIPPETS I'll go for my house's original electric wiring :') That's a puzzle we still haven't quite solved... But I've come pretty far installing new stuff. ART FEATURE LAST WEEK'S
#1linewed - theme: MIRROR
WHERE DID THE TIME GO?!!? Seriously, I've been quiet for a month? Oh man, sorry for the radio silence! We bought a house. And it's a mess :') Construction-wise it's sound, pretty much everything else is from the 70's. So yeah, I'm a bit busy... MY ART/SNIPPETS Eh, no mirrors for me... ART FEATURE LAST WEEK'S Or whatever week was the last one...
