Doctor Who fan art of the invasion of the Toclafane, as seen in the series 3 finale The Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Time Lords.

This was digitally painted on the 20th of August 2008 on a tablet PC using Sketchbook Pro with the airbrush tool only. Total time spent was about 2.5 hours.

When the Toclafane first appeared and we got a look inside of them, the apprent technology, to me, seemed dalek like; the use of brass as a colour and the whole concept of a cyborg interface.

The Toclafane were actually created and used in several iterations of the series 1 episode Dalek, during the several months during which the Terry Nation estate was refusing to grant BBC Wales the rights to using the Daleks.
