*Portfolio Piece*

I would like to take the time to point out that this is my first flash cartoon. This piece is the result of one months hard work. The flash is about two friends who think in completly differnt ways. One is constantly moving and has no time to make reasonable decisions, while the other is a witty thinker who likes to take things slow.

Just to keep the viewers of this cartoon up to date, I posted this cartoon on Newgrounds and it went largly unnoticed. Im not saying this to get you to run out and vote on the thing, I just don't want anyone thinking I stole the thing. It is my first animation after all.

Nice work, that's one hell of a good effort. I wouldn't have the patience to put together something that long. Only thing I can fault is it was maybe not so smooth in places (his torso when he's running towards the screen). Good one, particularly for a first try. :D

Ha! Thank you, im glad you liked it! I know what you mean about the not being smooth in some places. You see, depending on how I felt, I would sometimes lower the frame rate just to get through something quicker. Im such a slob! Also, I don't beleive in fingers. When you have to draw something so many times, stylized people are a real hook.

Haha, I know the feeling with my comics. Then again they aren't half as long as your animation.. Go mitten hands!

Doh, I thought I was being original! Ha. Any ways, it's cool that you make or made comics. I used to make them, but I just couldn't keep up with them. I tried to do them monthly, but I got really lazy.

Yeah. Also, not enough people read em. They were mostly for myself. Maybe one day i'll make some sort of web comic and actuly try to get people to read it.

Certainly not bad for a first time piece. Once you get used to the process and the various means of making things more efficien, production-wise, improvement will be exponential. :-)

It's a stylization im adapting too. Stylizing a frame by frame cartoon helps production go by way faster. I try not to lose too much detal (stick figures), but at the same time I try to keep it simple so that I don't lose momentum. Besides, when im working from scratch, I usualy get only 1 second done each night. I wish I knew how vinnie veritas gets his toons done so quick.

I enjoyed the concept and plot, but the animation wasn't polished enough for me to really get into the cartoon. However, I do realize that this was your first cartoon, so it's okay. I also enjoyed the amount of work put into the backrounds, it helped cement the idea of a complete work, rather than something you just slapped together hapazardly. Thirdly, if this is your first cartoon, then I look forward to seeing how you progress as an artist; you've showed a huge amount of potential, and with practice I believe your work will only get better.

Your comments are well taken. To be perfecly honest with you though, I kind of like the characters the way they are. It's a stylization that I think i'll stick to. If I really have to, i'll change my style after I finish my next cartoon, or midway and edit. As for the backrounds...to be honest repeat themselves. I spent close to no time on them, but your not the first person to say that they looked good. I guess compared to the stylized character they did. Also it could have something to do with the fact that the character is in your face the whole cartoon, while the backrounds only a few minor seconds. Eh.

Your comment has given me some ideas to implement into my next cartoon. Thanks!

Actually, I found it to be nothing like an acid trip, rather I felt it was closer to the sensation feels while doing an upper, such as speed, heroin, or even using ephadra.
