Graveyard picnic

A walk and a winter picnic in a churchyard. Originally she had really big wings, but I thought the smaller ones looked more delicate and allowed me to put some kind of rough background in there too.

I love the idea of winter picnics; walking through the snow in the shadow of a great cathedral, enrobed in a beautiful velvet cloak or victorian mourning dress. Delicious hot tea and cakes in the snow sounds fun too.
I have however tried a winter picnic and it wasn't half as romantic as it may seem here. It was freezing! Oh well...

As usual I might mess with this some more but I'm relatively happy with the way it turned out. And it was fun to paint, which is important.
