Hi!
...I see interesting old and vintage stuff but scanned at a quality level way too far for the minimum quality necessary to be used at anything other than image reverse search on Google ,Yandex or elsewhere...(even on social sites like Fb or G+ will look creepy)...
...try to avoid creating a striped pattern when scanning [is happened when scan resolution is too large or too small]...
Try to make quality scanns: at least 300ppi / dpi and minimum size 2048 on the biggest side [for greeting cards usualy is used 5" x 7", but never more small than 4"x5.5"], import them on Photoshop or Corel Paint Shop Pro or Corel Photo Paint and save as (Photoshop) or export (Corel) as png format ...
... but for superior quality scan I recommend VueScanPro and save in raw dng format [on 16 bits depth] and use as color profile ECI v2 rgb or Adobe rgb, open in Photoshop for final editing or retouchings and save as png with alpha channel ... never jpeg or gif ...
