Gargoyles in Tron? by Quachir Gargoyles in Tron? by Quachir
About two years back I managed to stumble onto the fact that Tron was out on a two disk DVD. I jumped on buying it and at this time need the first DVD of it back because my ex accidently brought it back home with him after visiting for a few months.

Anyway, I was on a huge Tron fix for a while as it was one of my favorite movies that I'd been shown when I was about five or so. While looking through the extras they showed a cake with Mickey Mouse in a Tron type suit. As I was on a Gargoyle watching binge at the time I sketch up this gargoyle who I've aptly called Nor... sort of inspired by the Norton Anti Virus system thingy.

In my head, Nor was a colaberation of many gargoyles from the Timewalker Clan, thus why he has bits and peices of his body looking like bits and peices of my own characters... some of which I have as of yet to show.

About a year ago I got to scan him and make a templet of him and color him in. Just today I added a background... something that might look like it could have been a background in Tron but I know that it's really bad. It's Nor that's on display really not the background.

Anyway, what'd ya' think?

Tron is (c) to Dinsey and Tron's original creators
Sorry, don't have the info in front of me and I'm being lazy at the moment.

Edit> Just to point out to those looking up Tron things this was originally done before there was any knowledge of the new movie to be released in theaters on December 17, 2010. Nor is based off the 1982 suit style.

I am very excited to see Tron: Legacy, with any luck it will be on the first day or at the very least the first weekend it is in theaters. Must see it in Disney IMAX 3D :D

Same here! Im excited about Tron: Evolution so freaking bad!! I did my character in the tron world except the background is well blank! I got the new tron suit down pack in my character but oh well. Cool art anyway and I never seen the original Tron movie.

Yeah, I saw it a few years after it came out as when it did come out I was born during that year. Some point I should revisit this and see if I can update it to look better and then try the new suits. The new ones are far less complicated than the old ones, less lights.

yeah not to mention less bulbs burning out during the movie shoot.

Considering the lights on the original suits were all painted in after everything was filmed, no bulbs involved with the old one with making those suits. Of course the animation artist didn't only have to make them look lit up they also had to paint the faces of everyone to a gray-ish blue or red scale. Of course back in the original there were only two colors being used on the Programs... well except for Clu, I think he was the only one that was yellowish or something... been a while since I rewatched the movie and Clu's only in it for about 5 minutes before he is derezed and or absorbed by the MCP.

But yeah, if you ever get the chance, watch the original. I expect Disney will be releasing it again in the next year or so, and with any luck it will be in Blueray format. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised when Legacy finally is in stores that they might have a special package of the two movies together... just thinking about it makes me can't wait.

Which reminds me that I need to remind my brother about the movie and look into where we can go see it in IMAX 3D when I go home for the holidays.

Love the colors and lines on his skin. My fist thought was Disney's Atlantis movie tho, i've never heard of Tron.

Yeah, Tron was released I think in like 1980-1983... some where in the early 80s and I only got to watch it because it was one time... probably in 1987 on TV and my parents taped it... don't know where that tape went now but I've got the DVD now... or at least I had it... must pester the Ex when he gets down with his anger, he was supposed to bring it back about a month or so ago. :pissedoff:

Ah, Tron! It always seems that no one knows that movie besides you! I was young when I saw it, but I can remember well how amazing it was.

Good character design and metal/chip-set like details
