Chilling with a butterfly by Quachir Chilling with a butterfly by Quachir
Just went and took the colored version of Mayah with the butterfly and put it in a more "realistic" setting of being in the grass. This has to be one of my favorite poses I've done with her so far... plus I'm kind of happy with the burn tool a this time though it took a bit to put the somewhat correct shaddowing caused by the grass.

GIVE COMMENTS PLEASE OR I'LL NEVER KNOW HOW TO IMPROVE HER!

This is adorable! I loved seeing the sketches too.

The comments that I can make are basically, though the shading is adequate, you might wrap the shadow color on the limbs and body a bit more to make her look 3d instead of a series of flat planes. Perhaps choose a slightly lighter shade color, so that it doesn't look extremely choppy, that's just my opinion I know it's a LK thing and the shadowed portions *are* pretty dark normally.

Might want to use a little blur on the cloud. Also, when finished with the shading, you might want to change the outline from black to a complimentary shade of color, to be slightly less distracting.

Otherwise it's a great little pic!

All I'm doing to add light and dark to the picture really is using a burn tool and a dodge tool (the second for putting some light in the flower). Makes it a bit easier than trying ot match the color of the fur and then finding a dark one... a little anoying when you don't get the lines right but that's how it goes.

Bad thing is shadows aren't me best with computers as you've seen with my dragons that you've adopted. The blur tool might help me out though I'm sure, especially in spots that the burn isn't even. Maybe one day she'll look really good but at this time seems she'll be a very thin shadow lined lioness.... maybe I'll try some of that on her brother when I get to working on his looks.

Thanks for the help, Shard.

No offence to you in this next comment: Any other oppinions and or helpful hits would be aprciated... if not spell correctly ;) *tries to hide the "bad speller" sign hanging from her neck*
