JL G-Series Rifles by Pyrosity JL G-Series Rifles by Pyrosity
More silhouettes. I've been using them as images for the Epiverse wiki as they're a lot quicker/easier to do.

Thank you!

Very relaxing to do since you don't have to worry at all about interiors or perspective, just pure silhouette and proportion. :)

Exactly. Any influence from the Gnomon tuts?

conceptart.org works alongside MassiveBlack studios and i guess they release a few video tutorials. Things like character modeling/texturing, to environmental build, to weapon and vehicle design. Here's a preview of the weapons design tut: [link]

Basically works the same way you have here. Silhouette to modeling, to texturing, and final render.

It'll cost you...haha. They look really cool, but most of what I've heard is just explanation while the time lapse of the painting runs in the background. Plus at $15 a pop, which isn't bad at all for just one...but to buy an entire set....eh

Better off just learning the old fashion way ;)

The G3A3 is by far the sexiest gun I have ever seen.

I personally love the G-Series. :D

It is quite elegant, isn't it?

I should design a rifle in this series based off of the G3 instead of primarily the G36 sometime.

Gotta say, the G3's my favorite when it comes to battle rifles. It just looks like it means business :3

Back in my Battlefield 2 days I swore by the G3, it only ever took three shots to down an enemy player and usually just a double-tap worked fine.

I've always liked the look of the similar-but-different FN FAL. Nice designs, anyway! The first two are obviously real-world, but I like how you've managed to create a plausible continuation of the series, as technology advances.

(The last one looks like someone's been playing a bit too much STALKER, if that's possible)

Mhmm. I've heard the FAL is technically more feasable as it is cheaper, but I've always personally held the G3 as my favorite for it's sophisticated aesthetic. A gentleman's battle rifle, if you will xD
I'd definitely like to do a design in the spirit of the G3/FAL instead of the G36 at some point.

I must admit, that last one has been one of my more radical departures from real world tech. Dono if you read the details in that link, but it is basically designed to fire caseless solid slug ammunition in addition to two special types of rounds that require tempurature control to keep them stable before firing. That's why it's so bulky.

Yup :)

In fact the first two are totally just HK rifles.

Thank you! :)

It is a hell of a lot quicker, and it does capture a lot of the looks of a design in general.
