Floating in Transition by Pyrosity Floating in Transition by Pyrosity
I haven't been shading many drawings in pencil like I used to, mostly because I've been bringing them into photoshop to touch them up and shading generally makes that more difficult. I feel like I'm a little rusty on my shading, after this, though I didn't go "all-out" on it like I sometimes do.

Regardless, I like how it turned out. It's Kathy again, and yes her resemblance to my fursona character Torché is on purpose. She is like him in more ways than one - you could say Kathy's a female form of Torché, but in Epiverse canon they are seperate characters entirely.

If you're curious about the extra long whisker-looking things on the sides of her cheeks, they're actually quills. Kathyrin is a porcupine/feline hybrid. Not much of her porcupine genetic makeup shows through her suit other than the cheek quills and in that her hair is somewhat quill-like.

Also wrote a short bit about this awhile ago:

... Floating in transition is a very peaceful state to reside in. The body relaxes and rests on a cusion of aether. The mind releases conciousness and drifts into a trance. The catch is that, being a transitory state, it does not last forever. And on top of this, exiting the state is rather blunt and abrupt comparatively - one feels as if they are thrown down to the ground, shocking them back into conciousness. Dazed and confused, the body is at first helpless but quickly regains it's bearing within a few moments.

Thank you! :D

I hope to do more like this; I am majoring in illustration after all, and this is what it's all about - images that tell a story.
