Acrylic on canvas board, still life painting at RMCAD

Final assignment; take items personal to you or from your childhood, paint them.

I remembered all the times I sat in my dad's lap while he played games like doom and wolfenstein 3d; items here are an old Descent II cd + jewel case, an old Radeon videocard, and a floppy disk with wolfenstein 3d on it.

The motherboard and the CD looks very impressive. A lil' bit rough around the edges though but at least it doesn't look too lazy.

Keep it up and you could do even better in your own personal works ;)

It's certainly been a lot of fun painting in that class; I definitely do want to take what I've learned and apply it, though nowadays I naturally gravitate to digital for personal work as it is both easy to work with and convenient, though limiting at times.

The fine linework on this was done with a "ruling pen", a sort of adjustable caliper which can hold ink or watered down paint. It was the instructor, Hugh, who introduced me to the tool and let me borrow his; quite an amazing and useful thing to have, I'll have to buy one sometime.

Thanks :)
