Ch.A-6 Dof. E Arkjuun by Pyrosity Ch.A-6 Dof. E Arkjuun by Pyrosity
Pictured: Ch.A-6 Dof. E Arkjuun in original Calurhuund colors. The Free Calur star is clearly visible on the side of the turret (c.339)

This 30 ton Calurhuundi tank was the last in a series of designs based on a very early trench-crawler. While technically advanced for its time, the sociopolitical chaos of Calur prevented their effective use. As a result, the Confederacy was able to capture a great number of Arkjuun tanks during the c.330s.

Some scattered resistance forces of Free Calur were able to make use of re-captured Arkjuun tanks against the Confederacy during the Red Scourge. These heroic Free Caluran crews were a thorn in the Confederates' side until the arrival of the Emperor heavy tank in c.340.

The Ch.A-6 was armed with the Ch.Fg.B-65a Jf/43 6.5cm gun in a large, three-man enclosed turret as well as a lightweight 7cm Ch.Fg.B-70i Jf/25 howitzer in the front hull. Models from Dof. A & B originally had a hull machine gun installed, but this was dropped in the Dof. C model in favor of a larger rotating commander's cupola incorporating a 1.5cm heavy machine gun.

Warm-up sketch from today that I liked quite a bit and decided to refine a bit more. I was playing around with early tank design aesthetics, playing out what derivative vehicles might look like based on a classic "lozenge" caterpillar tracked hull. (Rough sketches here: [link] )

By the start of WWII it could have been a pretty decent design. B1, Matilda and some others mixed in. Could have been a interwar polish heavy tank based on imported french and english designs in some "parrallel" universe:D
However the description makes it a bit mixed. Guns are too similar. Hull gun to replace an MG? Saying that suspension was durable enough to hold newer turret with bigger gun and that the original was smaller would have been better, imho.
Why have you left?

I wish 40K's Leman Russ tanks looked like this. It's a similar design style, but without the comical proportions.

Hehe, I kinda like their quirky proportions, but they are pretty comical when you stand them next to anything from the real world.

Maybe I should go into the miniatures business :3

This looks to me like a mix of Matilda and Sherman.

Actually, I look at this but for the exception of the much bigger turret and main gun, this cannot help but remind me a little of the french B1 and B1 bis tanks... though with an hull more reminescent of the british heavy MK-V tanks.

This is a really neat design - look like the illegitimate offspring of a Matilda, Char B, and a Sherman.

Looks like an American E8 and French B1 had a bastard child.
But non-less great tank design Tom.
