AMWV-8 'Pug Scorpion' by Pyrosity AMWV-8 'Pug Scorpion' by Pyrosity
AMWV-8/Tehk-W48 "Pug Scorpion"

This walker was designed in the late half of the Third War as a joint ADA/ASUN project. It featured what became known as the most stable version of the microservo stabilizing system, and was rather well armored for its class. The only major complaint by mech crews was its underpowered main cannon, which was quickly replaced by the GEO-5 50mm hybrid plasma cannon, designed specifically to overwhelm both conventional and CASCA charged-armor systems.

It is also armed with a dual automatic shotgun/grenade launcher stacked weapon in the chin turret, as well as the standard countermeasure and smoke screen launchers. On occasion, either the shotgun or grenade launcher (or both) would be replaced by a sawn-off version of the KCA M1000 very heavy machinegun. While inaccurate at range, it proved an effective counter to light vehicles and armored infantry up close.

It reminds me of the old Battletech Thug, actually. Huh.

I actually haven't played Battletech tabletop; I never really got into much tabletop as a kid, my main hobby has always been computer gaming and it's a bit hard to afford both at the same time!

I'm a fan of the Battletech IP though, always loved the Mechwarrior series. MW was my introduction to battletech and ever since, it's been the primary inspiration behind my mech designs.

This is the kinda thing I could see waltzing up to some battle somewhere, looking perfectly at home.

Mhmm. It's a very hard-edged design, I think that's part of what gives it that hardened military look. Thanks!
