It was a stormy night in Sprunki Town, and Jevin was awake, listening to the rain pouring on his window, while Wispy was peacefully asleep. It sounds like that storm was harsher than usual, as Jevin listened to the rain pounding harshly on his window, as well as the wind blowing, and the thunder and lightning.
CLAP!
“AAH!!”
Jevin was startled by the sound of his daughter, Amethyst, screaming. Being fully aware of her fear of thunder, Jevin immediately got out of bed and went to her room to tend for her. When he arrived, Sapphire was peacefully asleep in her bed, as she wasn’t woken by the thunder due to her heavy sleep, but Amethyst was awake and she was hidden under the covers, trembling in fear.
Jevin walked over to the bed and placed a hand over the blanket. “Amethyst? It’s daddy. I’m here.”
At that, Amethyst quickly got off of the cover and clung onto Jevin, who wrapped his arms around her as she cried into his chest.
“D-daddy...I-I'm scared...Daddy!” whimpered Amethyst.
“Shh-sh-sh-sh...There there...I got you...” Jevin soothed as he rubbed his daughter’s back. “I know the thunder is loud, but you’re safe in here...” He then laid Amethyst back down in her bed and covered her up, before laying next to her as he wrapped his arms around her again. As he gently stroked her head wings, he remembered how he used to be afraid of thunder as a kid, and how his mother would always sing him a lullaby to help soothe him and go back to sleep whenever there’s a storm happening. So he starts singing it to her.
Little child, be not afraid
The rain pounds harsh against the glass
Like an unwanted stranger
There is no danger
I am here tonight
Little child
Be not afraid
Though thunder explodes
And lightning flash
Illuminates your tearstained face
I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
Little child
Be not afraid
The storm clouds mask your beloved Moon
And its candlelight beams
Still keep pleasant dreams
I am here tonight
Little child
Be not afraid
The wind makes creatures of our trees
And the branches to hands
They're not real, understand
And I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
For you know, once even I
Was a little child
And I was afraid
But a gentle someone always came
To dry all my tears
Trade sweet sleep the fears
And to give a kiss goodnight
Well, now I am grown
And these days have shown
Rain's a part of how life goes
But it's dark and it's late
So I'll hold you and wait
Till your frightened eyes to close
And I hope that you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
Everything's fine in the morning
The rain will be gone in the morning
But I'll still be here in the morning
By the time Jevin finished singing, Amethyst was peacefully asleep and she was snuggled into her father’s chest. Upon seeing that, Jevin kissed her forehead and patted her head.
“Goodnight, Amethyst...” he whispered, before laying his head back down, feeling too tired to go back to bed himself, so he ended up falling asleep in Amethyst’s bed, holding her close for the rest of the night.
