Clouds 9 by purplepawn Clouds 9 by purplepawn
Yes, yet another skyline shot of Perth from the same spot as every other. Who cares. Our city is beautiful, and I want to shoot it in all different weather, temperatures and times of day. There'll be many more to come, so if you don't like them, don't look at them :p

It was very cold last night and a few clouds in the sky. No wind around at all, so I decided to take some shots. Enjoy.

RAW conversion done in C1. Bordering, framing and digital signature done in Photoshop CS.

Clouds 9 by *purplepawn may just look like your regular night cityscape, but it is much more than just that. ( Featured by randomcasualty )

Can't really remember as it was taken a long time ago... but they would probably be around:
ISO100
f11
10 second shutter speed

something like that...

Wow, a real treat to look at! :)

I know so little about Perth... living on the other side of the country in a "self-centered" city has that effect I guess!

It was a 30 second exposure @ f11. ISO400 was used as the equivalent film speed :)

You seem surprised?

Lookin at it again, the grain doesn't really show all that much. It's apparent in the 8x12" print I have here, but only in the clouds :)

Very excellent night shot again. The buildings seem to be slightly out of focus due to camera shake or what have you. What happened?
Reply
:iconpurplepawn:
purplepawn Featured By Owner Oct 3, 2004
No camera shake, got a fairly heavy duty tripod and the night air was very still. I have the print here in front of me, and the skyline is sharp as a tack. The phenomenon of the flaring lights on buildings due to the long exposure tends to give a sense of softness and unsharpness, but it's definitely all in focus :)

must all be flare. Prints always look better then on screen. Good work either way
