Submissions (May 25, 2014) Effective immediately, in an effort to improve the quality of the gallery, submissions will be limited and must be approved by one of the administrators. However submissions to the Favorites are unlimited and require no approval. Remember to submit all pictures to the proper folder. All folders in the gallery now have a corresponding folder in the favorites. If you submit any picture to the Gallery, be sure to submit it to Favorites also; if it is not accepted into the Gallery, it will still find a place in Favorites. ******************************************************** . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . RULES 1. No pornographic material whatsoever. Anything remotely close will be removed ASAP. 2. SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS TO THE CORRECT FOLDER! If any photo is submitted to the incorrect folder, it will be removed, and you have the option to re-submit it to the correct folder. This will still take from your daily quota. 3. Only submit pictures you would want to favorite yourself. If it's not a quality image, don't submit it, because it won't be accepted. 4. If your submission fits under two different folders, put it in the folder that best suits it. For instance, if you have a waterscape that also has sky in it, don't upload it to sky folder. Upload it to waterscape, as the image's main focus is the water. ~If you have an image that doesn't fit in the folders, or you would like for the group to have a new folder, please send me a note through the group, and I'll get it done ASAP. ~ 5. If you feel like your work isn't good enough to be in the gallery, but you still like it, feel free to upload it to the Favorites. You can upload unlimited pictures to the Favorites! 6. Have fun! This group is meant to be relaxed, and for the Deviant members to have fun and relax. 7. If you want to argue with another member whether it be in the comments or somewhere else in the group, keep it clean. Don't just rage at them, give constructive criticism, and keep it nice. 8. With #7 in mind, no vulgar language. This website is used by the younger generation as well, so make sure to keep your language clean. Breaking any of these rules (outside of reason) will result in a permanent BAN. This ban can be removed from an appeal in the form of a note sent to the group administration. ******************************************************** . . . . . . . . . . . . Quality Requirements: 1. Picture MUST be in focus, unless parts of the image are out of focus for specific reasons 2. Composition must be overall appealing to the eye, no plain or bland shots of random things 3. Only one submission of a certain scene, even to Favorites. Don't upload 2-3 pictures of the same image, taken at different angles or different spots. If they look the same, only submit one. 4. Submit your best work. In order to keep the gallery clean from junk pictures, do your best to only submit the best. 5. No filtered pictures. Don't use filters like you would find on Instagram or Twitter, that ruin the image. They might look different, but it can ruin a picture. It's better to leave them how they are. 6. NO SELFIES. Selfies are NOT photography. Very few pictures should ever be considered for the group that are taken from a phone. 7. While we understand your desire to watermark a photo in order to protect yourself against theft, please realize that if the watermark itself detracts from the quality of the image, we will remove the photo. This will completely protect it from theft. ******************************************************** Please note the newly added folder that welcomes submissions from those new to photography. With this I am saying goodbye to PurePhotographyBliss. Pureoptic is back and will resume the role of administrator. Except for the featured gallery, all submissions, up to three per day per folder, are automatic. I learned a lot from PPB. The results of my time with you may be seen in my new group PureCream. Pureoptic (the admin) is back but he says he cannot find any of the requests. I just want to give the group decisions back to him. Try sending him a message.

about either being backlogged!

These deviations sat for more then a week, One was accepted
the the other 3 just sat there and that is weird to me
Sorry I feel that way, but it all gets too confusing so I tend
to leave groups who are not better organized
I work in many groups and they run quite smoothly
so yeah no excuse, if one says OH I'm too busy, then don't start a group
Or make a journal stating you are gone etc... then its all good and less confusing
I know you understand what I mean

Hi there! I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to photography. So I'm just wondering, do you guys approve pictures taken from a phone, as long as they're of good quality? (I'm only using my phone until I get a good camera.)
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. We do accept a few phone pictures, just keep in mind we will be grading them based on the quality, which means they'll be judged the same as one taken from a professional DSLR. Cell phones have the capability to take very high quality pictures, though. If you would like, there's a Beginner folder in the Gallery available for simple cell phone pictures if you're looking to improve.
We do if you submit them to the "Beginners' Place" where you can get comments from any of our members and help with improving your photography. Just do selfies, please.
