Thanks Luca! Great going with the new bulbs : ) . I worked with these so much that I'm afraid I do not have the energy to test the others formulas now.. sorry
btw. your advice about using twenty or so iterations on bulb insides does not always work, this one required about 200.
Really? I use few iters because it is faster to render and because sometimes it screws up things a little less but there is no absolute rule. Ofc more iters add more detail
Sweet! I haven't grabbed the newest batch of formulas yet, was just waiting to make sure Luca doesn't make further tweaks to them. But I guess it's about time now~
thanks Go ahead, but it has to be mentioned that spots like this are incredibly difficult to find, generally the insides are similar noisy mess as normal bulb. That said, you definitely do not lack the necessary skills
Thanks! I have a good bit of patience too while looking for things, not saying I'll find something though! Bulbs are not my favorite playground, but I dive in on occasion. Work like your image is quite inspiring. At any rate, it's on my list of things to try in the next few days.

It depends a lot on a situation, too few iters -> no spirals;
too many iters -> spirals are hidden by vegetation like clutter.
I do the exploring with something like 30 iters, and then add more when I've found a potential location.
(Sorry for sneakily luring you in with the chess set comment
