It's funny, once every while someone will draw comparisons between his work and mine. I do love the style of the stop-motion animations he was involved in, but I'm not consciously attempting to mimic anything- Except for the scissorhands doll, but that was a commission.

I can't say for sure how much influence it has had subconsciously, of course, but actually, at least drawing-wise, I always thought of the comic artist Franquin as my biggest inspiration...

Not even taking into account her “self-freezing” problem, would I be right in guessing Lacrimosa is both camera-shy & reluctant to make eye contact?

Absolutely! It's a nightmare to get her to cooperate. Hence why she doesn't appear much in group pictures of my dolls. ;) Though she's gotten a bit less shy now that she's got a girlfriend who likes to mess around with her hair and tell her she's pretty.

I was more referring to that which holds the image of an angel becoming itself an angel & the whole “if you look a Weeping Angel in the eye, you get its larva planted in your retina & hallucinate that you’re turning into a Weeping Angel yourself as it gestates” thing.
