During my preteen, teen, and college years, I found that perseverance was a reliable away to beat nearly any video game. (and I discovered it was often true in life, too.) By the time I figured out a funny way to phrase it, those sorts of video games were dying off.

Today in 2024, this advice doesn't seem to be as applicable anymore, either in video games or in real life, but for a couple decades in there, it was solid advice that served me well. I think it's a change in the technology and in the era as opposed to it being only a change in the age of the players.
