The plants excuse by Pupaveg The plants excuse by Pupaveg
Dear meat eaters who use the plants excuse,
If you care so much about plants, then you should go vegan. It takes up to 13 pounds of plants to produce just 1 single pound of meat. Meat production is also the main reason of deforestation (to create space for grazing cattle and especially for planting crops to feed farmed animals!); even more plants destroyed. So if you're going to be a plants rights activists, then stop eating animal products. But you don't care about plants, don't you? You probably just use them as an excuse to justify needlessly exploiting, torturing and killing sentient animals for a fleeting taste on your tongue. :) Am I right?

-_- I mean seriously... these "plants tho" people have no idea how desperate and brainless they come across. Sorry if that sounds a little harsh... but how horribly stupid must you be to claim that stabbing a SENTIENT dog/pig/animal is "the same thing" as cutting a NON-SENTIENT banana which lacks a nervous system (required to be capable of feeling pain!)? Even most meat eaters think this argument is absurd. I advice those "plants tho" people to seek mental help as soon as possible because there is obviously something wrong with them if they think that crushing puppy skulls with your foot is "the same thing" as stepping on grass or that puppy mills is "the same" as harvesting strawberries. By that logic, even murdering humans is justifyable, since humans and non-human animals suffer in the same way.

Most people don't use it as a serious argument, but I've seen some who do. They're usually not the brightest ones. Especially because animal agriculture is the leading cause of global deforestation and crop waste.

I think the worst part is that it's the leading cause of global deforestation, habitat destruction, ocean deadzones, water pollution, animal cruelty, GHG emmissions, species extinction and food- and water shortages in 3rd world countries.

So you can't just pick one?! Best thing about meat?! I guess the taste, and that's about it. Do you miss eating meat?! (Not trolling, just asking an honest question)  How did you fight your temptation on the first days?!

Best thing about meat? I dunno... I don't see anything positive about it honestly. It's the no. 1 contributor of pollution and cruelty. It's like you're asking me what the best thing about other forms of senseless violence are.
I don't miss meat. My boyfriend is a great cook, so we always have something different to eat every day and my diet is more varied than it ever was. I actually feel sick now whenever I see meat, dairy and especially eggs. Ugh... I didn't have that in the beginning, but seeing it for what it truly is (corpse and breast milk and periods) for over 8 years now, ruins my appetite pretty quickly. After all these years, it now feels to me like looking at shit or a snail and imagine putting it in my mouth. Uggghhh... okay, now you've put me off the seitan satay and tea I'm having at the moment. Why thanks a lot!! Grrr!

Looks like you have a poor reading comprehension. It's okay, maybe your English is just poor. Let me help you translate it: comparing mowing the lawn to sexually exploiting, torturting and killing living, sentient beings like humans or animals is absurd. Most people who do this are just joking, but when one insists that it's the same thing, that person is in need of serious mental help.

Comparing mowing the lawn to protecting fruits and vegetable crops with pesticides and killing pests such as rabbits, aphids, moles, squirrels, deer, stray farm animals, rats, beavers, beetles, moths, butterflies, grasshoppers, flies, maggots, gophers, raccoons, groundhogs, voles, birds and other animals is also absurd.

If you are so worried about pesticides, all the more reason to stop eating meat. For every pound of meat produced, up to 25 pounds of crops have been fed to an animal. So by going vegan, you minimize this. Most of the world's crops are wasted to cattle.
Also, you can always choose organic fruits and vegetables to avoid pesticide crap. ^^

They also bit in my hand back in the days I worked as a farmers. That's what pigs do, they're omnivores. Unless you train them, they will try to eat anything that's edible. Just like lions, tigers, crocodiles, wolves, cheetahs and other wild animals. That is no valid reason to breed them by the billions for the sole purpose of slitting their throats for your enjoyment though.

You're well on your way. Hopefully you'll replace chicken someday with animal-friendly meals, as one animal instead of another won't save any life.

IKR? It's so funny to see otherwise intelligent people pull such a brainless argument. Especially since animal agriculture wastes 5-20 kg of plants/soy/grain for every kg of meat/dairy/eggs produced (animals don't consume magic) and is also the leading cause of deforestation worldwide in order to make space to grow this absurd amount of cattle feed.

Yes, I knew that euthanized dogs and cats are used as cattle feed. This, and the brainwashing are just two of the many sick things that happens in animal agriculture. There's so many things wrong with this industry, not even a book as thick as the bible would fill if you'd list all those things up.

If nonvegans care so much about plants, then you should go vegan. It takes up to 13 pounds of plants and 55 feet of rainforest to produce just 1 pound of meat. 70% of the plants we grow is fed to farmed animals. So by going vegan they'll save many many plants! :P Oh wait, I forget to mention the rainforests bulldozed down to make space to plant crops meant to fatten up farmed animals. Also plants :P

So right but most of them won't listen. You don't have to go vegan from one day to the next. The first important thing is to not ignore the truth anymore but so many people just close their eyes. I also did it for a long time. I even knew the truth but I didn't want to think about it too much. I'm so so happy, I finally decided to go vegan, best decision of my life so far.

I know right? I always advice those people to seek mental help. Being a plants rights activists makes zero sense while wasting 70% of grain and 98% of soybean meal to farmed animals just so you can eat them.
