I have my rights as a woman and person of colour today because of people in the past speaking out for me. So I will do the same for any other group that's still oppressed today.

I am neither vegan nor vegetarian for gastronomical reasons (yes, shame on me for liking meat - no), but I do respect and admire people who cut out food acquired by killing animals in a torturous way. I think could never do that.

I used to think like that, too. "I could never do that". But once you recognize that harming innocent, sentient beings for pleasure is wrong, there is no other way than to stop hurting them. I hope you one day stop funding animal abuse, too, so we can all live in freedom and harmony.

I feel like capitalism would need to be gone first, since it is the one that benefits from this kind of cruel consumerism. I mean, just like with the global warming, you could put the blame on individuals, but it's really only a part of it.
P.S. I would still l-l-love a synthetically manufactured meat! I mean, one of low price AND of decent quality. (I ain't a billionare!)

For animal products, the problem is demand and supply. The more people who pay for animal abuse, the more animals who will be bred to be abused and killed. We really can't end capitalism by keeping demand for such products up. Thankfully we don't need to miss out on taste. There are plenty of cruety-free alternatives which taste and look like meat, and they're cheaper and healthier, too. Youtube has some good examples: www.youtube.com/results?search…

you're right, I'm always inspired by people who fought for us!
And though I know I'm not the best at beeing on the battlefield, I know that, with the little  I'm doing I actually am fighting!!!! And that's amazing!!!
just beeing able to tell someone: I do not eat animals, is already a big thing, because it's gonna leave an impression on them
instead of shying away (and aaah, I've done that a lot too =( )
