Super Mario

I had this idea for a concept for a long time and finally had time to create it. Read the backstory below.

Mario Brosetti was a plumber from Long Island. He always dreamed of becoming a hero, but didn't have the courage required for a "hero's" profession. He realized this quickly and went to trade school to become a certified plumber.

After only a few weeks on the job, he realized he had given up on his dream without even really trying. Mario soon fell into a heavy addiction with drugs. His drugs of choice were hallucinogenics, more specifically, mushrooms. Mushrooms were all he thought about; how he could get them, the different kinds, and (most importantly) how they made him feel. When he took the mushrooms he was transported to an 8 bit world where he was a hero plumber, rescuing his "Princess" from his long time nemesis, Bo Wser.

Although he was able to function on the job under all these drugs, his addiction intensified. Soon he was taking anything that would bring him back to that world where he felt "super". He ate red leaves that made him feel like he could fly and like a raccoon at the same time. When he licked frogs, he would become them. He would sometimes ingest a plant that made him feel like he could spit fire. He even dabbled in a drug called "Magic Stardust" that made him feel invincible.

The more he took the hallucinogenics, the better the visions became. The 8 bit world became more realistic and vivid with every drug. He soon had manifested a cast of friends in this world where they could join him on his adventures, race go-karts, or even play party games.

One day, Mario gets a call for a job. When he arrives, a beautiful blonde greets him. It was his Princess. The woman didn't really know Mario, but recognized him from the neighborhood. The Princess invited him in and Mario was in awe, so much so, he could barely speak. After the Princess had described why she called him, there was a long awkward pause while Mario stared at her longingly. He soon realized the awkwardness and knew he had to say something, anything. So, he went to what he knew best, plumbing. He started to tell her everything he knew about plumbing, including the things he had seen. Every gross, slimy, gut wrenching detail of his work. He couldn't stop himself. After a few minutes, Mario noticed the queasy look on his Princess's face and realized he had blown it. Depressed with defeat, he simply asked where the job was, and the Princess pointed him to the door at the end of the hallway. Mario went into the bathroom, closed the door behind him, said to himself "Let's a go" while cramming a handful of mushrooms in his mouth before he stomped the Princess's Venus Fly Trap to the floor, and jumped feet first into her green toilet.
