HWE: Battle of the Behemoths
The Appalachian Trail was once one of the most populated trails to cross back in the day. Back at the turn of the 21st Century, a rise in the backpacking community saw its trails crossed by many, with completing the entire trek in the neighborhood of a massive accomplishment. But as the Enigma era set in, and monsters crawled out of the woodwork, paranoia began to set in. The confirmation of Bigfoot existing, and being a man killer was something that hit parks hard. Attendance dropped along with funding that was slashed to help propagate various state and national programs for kaiju defense. The trails fell into disarray, slashing into local life around the Appalachians as a whole.
Fearful that one of the most iconic trails would completely vanish, a joint effort between hobbyists, nature lovers, and the Parks program threw together an attempt to save the trails.
