I was about to ask you where to find this in your gallery! I found it in the magazine recently while it was sitting on a book exchange shelf in one of the lounge-type areas on campus and was like, 'wait, this art looks familiar...' before I looked down and found your name in the byline. I like it! Though it does seem a little imbalanced with so much going on at the bottom and not a lot at the top of the illustration.

We need an artist to do an Ancient Arab culture scene for our FaceBook game.

We are willing to pay 50% upfront after approving a rough sketch and the last 50% when you are finished.

Here are the details:[link]

That looks amazing. I'm actually subscribed to Realms of Fantasy, just renewed it recently. Can't wait for the next issue now. Do you do work for them often?

Yeah, they mentioned that in one of the letters that they sent me. Said that the management change was necessary in order to keep the magazine going. They didn't explain why though. Hope they still hire you. Good luck.

Yes, I do illustrations for them every few issues. They've just changed management though, so I don't know how often the new art director will be assigning me work, we'll see.

Pretty much just watercolors these days for color.

for whateve reason I never could get the hang of water colours... when I paint I seem to gravitate to acrylics... cheap, and easily over laid with other media... sad that expression boils down to economics

you never fail to take my breath away! I love the bird..It reminds me of a story I heard ..about a wind up Nightingale in a cage that sang for the Emperor and he sadly liked it better than the real Nightingales! Anyway ..that's what I thought of when I saw your painting! Sigh!@!!

Kind of funny, but from a quick glance I thought this picture was related to this: [link] (with the bird's eye) I know they aren't, but thought it was fun that I saw them right after another.

This picture reminds me of the song (and the story contained therein) Meadowlark, sung by Liz Callaway.

Both are absolutely gorgeous.

You'd have to buy the magazine :)
It'd be a breach of contract for me to have it posted, having sold it to them.

Hi! I wrote the story.

Just wanted to say that I am picking my jaw off the floor from the beauty of this. I love it so very much! From the sketches to the final piece, you've made my day(s).

When Doug said that you were going to illustrate my story, I almost didn't believe I could be so lucky! I have been your fangirl for a while :)

(Tried posting this on your blog, and I tried a few days ago too, and it didn't seem to go through).

But how can you be so (wonderfully) productive. Your artwork grows better and better by the fact, you were already among the betters, you are perhaps the best now... (sigh: I would like to have time enough to be a bit better than I am...)
Magical, once more, what can I say more, I'm speechless, of course. Poetic, subtle, wonderful. :D
