"Me too!"
Looked like fun, so here goes.

I think if this were to go back to 2000 there would be much more drastic change. But for the most part it's a gradual anatomy improvement and richer colors, with some branching out in recent years. The ink work shows a lot more change in the 2003-2009 period than my watercolors.

Is there a place we can see some of your older work, like from 2000? I'm amazed by your work, and I'd like to see those "drastic changes" you mentioned.

I thought your artwork looked familiar!! I have your book (I got it as a Christmas present). I love it! :D

When I was looking through your different works in the meme, I kept trying to find one I recognized to make sure it was the same person, and sure enough, I found one!

By the way, your book inspired me to try using watercolor. It's one of my favorites to use now (even if I am still getting used to it) :)

I remember your work from even farther back...back in the elfwood days. You were always very experimental with subject matter, but I can see you were less free with line variety, color, and composition. Most of your subjects were centered in the page, painted with analogous colors, and weren't as varied in texture (which makes sense with the computer graphics - very smooth). As you've grown, your line quality is superb as you know when to be graphical, and when to be more representational. You're less heavy handed with your figure/object boundaries as some of the edges disappear completely - very organic. Your textures vary wildly, and you seem to have a lot of fun creating complete environments with elegant, sweeping compositions that create a lot of movement and complexity. The colors are the most amazing change. You're right about your growth in that area of skill and "artistic eye". Your color schemes are quite complex and exquisite. Your work was always amazing. It's cool to see that even masters improve with time.

I don't even know what to say. I mean, dear freaking god, you started out great, but your newer stuff, it's so beautiful. Your colors, your detail, your ideas, they're fantastic.

I admire the switch back to traditional. Really, people are always on this meme with the same, 'Oh, I upgraded to photoshop and a tablet' as if your art being digital makes it any better or worse. This proves those silly people wrong with ease. Digital or traditional doesn't make a difference, it's just the thought, effort and soul you put into it. I hate how some traditional artists seem to feel like they are absolutely required to do digital art to be good. I'll admit, I used to think the same thing, but honestly, between the stuff I draw on my tablet, and the stuff I do on paper, the stuff on paper is a higher quality. My lines with the tablet are squiggly and lame, and it just doesn't feel the same at all. I like the feel of pencil/marker/pen on paper. It makes me feel like I'm actually creating something.

Enough of that, though. As far as your work, I can honestly say that you are amazing. I want to just fall into one of your pieces, become part of it and never leave.

because I enjoy working on a physical piece so much more. And you can't really layer optically colors digitally the way you can with real paint.

I see your point. I am very impressed by your watercolour works, never figured out how to use it properly.
