Lovely - looks almost like it should be part of a tarot deck. Very mystical.

This is absolutely stunning (all of your artworks are breathtaking)!

I was just wondering, what is the process that you go through when creating each piece? The detail is impossibly well done; do you paint section by section, or the background first, or just whatever works at the time? And how do you dilute/control the colours so well? I'm sorry for all the questions, I've been following you for years and I've always been a little apprehensive to ask anything.

Thank you for continuing to share your art, it never ceases to amaze me :)

I have a lot of progress photos of this piece here at my blog:
shadowscapes.com/wordpress/?p=…

And tons of other progress photos of many of my other paintings too.

I don't really have a formula. I mean, there are general guidelines for what I do first, but I am always breaking those rules too, depending on the piece.

Gorgeous! This card matches perfectly with the description. I also think it's the most visually striking card in the deck, so far.

What gorgeous work, as always!  I've been watching for years, and it's been fascinating to see your work continuously change and develop, never remaining stagnant.

In your blog, you mention how easily ultramarine lifts (boooy does it), and using a workable fixative to help with that.  You're the second watercolorist I've come across mentioning that in a single evening -- and I'm curious, is there a particular brand you favor?  I'd like to try it in my own procress, and if I can skip over wasting time on bad products, I'd be grateful!

any workable fixative should work fine. I haven't really bothered with sticking to a particular brand. As long as it's workable, or else you won't be able to paint on top of it

Will you and Satyr be publishing this as a book along the lines of your Tarot books?  If so, consider this a pre-order.

Excellent.  I have no interest in the cards as cards, but I love the artwork, the classic themes interpreted in image and word.
