Kirby x Kid Icarus: Star + Sky Team Posters

At long, long last...MY MASTERPIECE IS COMPLETE!!!

I've created the poster for my passion project fanfiction Kirby x Kid Icarus: Star & Sky Team, and I've pulled out ALL the stops: digital coloring. Matching color schemes from the source material. Reused and remastered assets. CGI modeling. Shading. Gradient effects. Text for visual effects. Logos. It was NOT easy, but I am SO ecstatic that I could accomplish this tremendous undertaking!

For those who are curious about this fanfiction, here's a brief synopsis:

Dream Land's Star Warrior hero, Kirby, is back with an all-new high-flying adventure with Pit, the angel guard captain of Palutena, the Goddess of Light! NightMare Enterprises has stolen Palutena's special Skyworld harvest and Rejuvenation potion, and so she sends Pit to retrieve it, which leads him to getting delivered straight to Dream Land. His enemies from the Underworld Army, Pandora and Thanatos, are hot on his tail, and when they join forces with the bratty, tubby King Dedede, our heroes may bite off more than they can chew with a huge veggie problem! Meanwhile, a secret past will soon be discovered between Skyworld and Dream Land, and Pit will discover something that he's always longed for...a real friend.

I intended this fanfiction to be a love letter to Masahiro Sakurai, fans of his two best non-Smash Bros. works and to pay tribute to the 4Kids-dubbed shows we all grew up with in the 2000's, like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic X, Dinosaur King and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003)! All throughout the story there's hidden references to 4Kids' legacy but rest assured: when writing this, I've learned all the things NOT to do with them from Disney's Wish, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers (2022). I also attempt to fill in the actual Kirby: Right Back At Ya anime's biggest plotholes and rushed execution of its finale.

This is also the first DeviantArt pic I've uploaded with TWO pics with one entry! I wanted to be as authentic as possible to the original Kirby anime, right down to Kirby himself and the NME Salesman's monitor being rendered in Paint 3D, just like in the show. And to appeal to fans of the original Japanese dubs, namely Hoshi no Kaabii and New Light Myth: Palutena's Mirror, I put in their logos as well, edited the NME Salesman's background to its original Holy Nightmare design, and, just like how Sakurai liked to do it, I put happy faces for Kirby and Pit in the Japanese version and brave fighting faces for the US version.

I'm REALLY glad Nintendo is shifting some focus onto non-game mediums for their IP's, especially with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and 2027's live-action Legend of Zelda flick, because it opens up a chance for Kirby's--and hopefully, Pit's--chance in the spotlight just like how they debuted in 2002 and 2012. Kirby: Right Back At Ya deserves to be seen again by modern audiences, either rerelreasing on streaming or getting a full-on second season. Until that day hopefully comes, I've put out the ultimate thing to whet your Nintendo appetites. I'm especially happy to post this poster set because to my utter disappointment, my fanfictions aren't getting as much comments or favorites as my art pieces, and when I do get comments, it's from those stupid "I wanna make a comic" bots. I hate that SO much. I really put my all into this passion project and I believe it's too special to stay obscure and I want to spread it around to show my true talents, so hopefully this poster will draw some readers in.
