Twilight and Pinkie's Gummy Heart

Finished version of my Twilight and Pinkie sketch. Included is a dash of headcanon/why I like this ship...



Though it didn't start out as such, Twipie has grown to become one of my favorite MLP pairings. Twilight being as obsessed with studying she is and being pretty much socially awkward and not very outgoing(with a tendency to close herself off from eveyone with just her books) would need some one to help bring her out of her shell and basically get her to loosen up... and who better to do that than Pinkie Pie. Being as outgoing and cheerful as she is plus her desire just to see everyone happy would be a breath of fresh air for the bookworm(even though Pinkie's hyperactive can get annoying at times) and would her that sometimes it's alright to let a little unorganized mayhem into your life. It's something Twi gradually comes to appreciate and even like, leading to her eventually developing feelings for the pink pony. Her lingering social anxiety and fear of being rejected keep her from admitting this to anyone other than Spike.


Twilight though would be unaware that Pinkie's "Pinkieness" is actually driven by a fear of loneliness stemming from her foal hood pre-sonic rainboom and her first few weeks living with the Cakes(more on that later). It's only after Pinkie suffers a severe breakdown similar to the incident in "Party of One" which Twi witnesses that she sees first hand just how fragile Pinkie really is, and that both surprisingly both she and her have some of the same issues(namely fear of being alone). Twilight comforts Pinkie and helps her regain her confidence and cheerfulness. It's towards the end of this long healing process that Twi finally decides to come clean on her feelings for Pinkie Pie, only to discover that Pinkie already knew and and developed her own crush on the purple unicorn.



That's a just a tiny bit of my MLP headcanon, I don't want it to conflict with the show's canon too much so any advice/critique would be greatly appreciated.
