Wonderfest 2263 by Ptrope Wonderfest 2263 by Ptrope

After the fun I had at Wonderfest Hobby Expo last weekend, in Louisville, KY, I couldn't resist looking a little bit into the future. These are all digital models I've built over the years - Star Trek-related, of course ;-) - and I figure by 2263, I might actually be able to get them all built in plastic!

Obviously, this is in the suite, before bringing the models down to the contest room ... ;)

===============================

This one was a lot of work - I started out in Poser Pro 11, then switched back to Poser Pro 2014, and had a real problem with the texture maps - no matter what I tried, it blurred them all a bit; I don't know if it was because I just overloaded the machine with all the models and maps, indirect lighting and reflections, or whether I missed a major setting or what - this is the first time I've really had this be an unsolveable problem. So - I resampled the image smaller for the final pic! ;)

Awesome.  WonderFest was great as always, right?  Now I'm wondering if I might have bumped into you and not even known it!

It's possible - I was there Sat. and Sun. - haunting a few of the talks and demos (Enterprise restoration, Colin Cantwell, epoxy putty demo, car painting demo) as well as the vendor room - didn't get to hit the model room until mid-day Sun.. Just in case, I included "Ptrope" on my name tag ;); if you saw someone wearing a "Diamond Tuck Drive-In" shirt on Saturday, twas me.

Eeeeeyup! ;) When I modeled it, I decided that the opening in front had actually had a section that completed the hull as a full saucer, so it's included as a hinged 'hatch' that can be made invisible for those who want to make it 'canon.'

Fantastic!  You shouldn't wait and have these 3D printed!

I've noticed some of the older textures not translating and most of the time adding SSS to the texture makes it work in 2014 fine after that.  Granted these are for people, but I'd think it would work for object textures too.  Might be something to try.

I use Poser Pro 11 and have had some strange texture problems a couple of times.  I ended up having to competely delete the model from the scene, reload it, and then manaully load the textures on each material surface in order for the textures to display correctly.  Cutting and pasting materials didn't work.

I don't know if you tried that or not, but figured I'd suggest it since it fixed my problems.
