for the ones that know me when I was active (I have won over 50 watchers by doing absolutely nothing), my dA has been for the most part dead.
personally it was due tons of stress that left me with a lot of frustration in drawing, along with no more will to share my work out of pure self-criticism.
because just yesterday I realized I have tons of unpublished work, A LOT OF UNPUBLISHED WORK, easily worth of 100 hours
and some of it was of really good quality, but at the moment I just couldn't see it as such, I could only saw my personal mistakes as well as some shady cooperative work.
Now I have regained some of the joy I had in drawing and I hope it sticks if I nourish it enough, it's also part quite therapeutic as I sorta developed plenty of anxiety episodes due to stress from university, I'm doing really fine right now, reason I wanted to post something in here.
I realized I never officialy stated the cancelled projects, so here it is.
OVERALL CANCELED PROJECTS AND REASONS:
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Tales of Epic Battle Fantasy"
fan comic based on the Epic Battle Fantasy franchise, it's easy to say this was the first and most ambitious project I ever had, it was the first step stone I had for learning about story writing, comics and character design ideas, this project started when I was 19 years old most probably.
-Was a great learning experience
-I needed a writer to work with, the ones I worked with only wasted my time (years of progress lost sometimes)
-I was learning so fast that every progress on the comic was redone as my skills were evolving therefore it had no art consistency
(sometimes I struggle with this to the day, but it's way more manageable right now)
-I easily re-wrote the script 6 times and started the actual comic 3 times.
RESULT: Abandoned once my art style and tastes matured past the original content, other topics I got far more invested into.
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Rainbow Dash guitar project"
my other really big project that got years of produced content that never saw the light, as I learned I could craft electric guitar & basses and got involved into the mlp fandom, I decided to craft a guitar and give it away in a music contest.
-needed funds to actually build the guitar, didn't have money for the materials
-decided to make some sort of kickstarter to get crowdfunding
-paired up with an animator to develop those animations to go along with the crowdfunding
-developed tons of concept art, storyboard, backgrounds and keyframes
-overall animation quality was fairly low and lost all the spark that my original concepts had
-as I realized it, I ceased all funding and scraped the project
RESULT: wasted too much of my time and money to develop it further, very little actual animation work, have 45 handmade keyframes for the animation (I will upload them, they are still cute as hell)
-------------------------------------------------------------
"A broken Cycle"
A full original mlp comic that I tried to work in, at this point I was already stressed out by university (I even put my studies on hold), had lovely concepts but due to health, my focus and determination were plummeting.
the original story was about future Princess Twilight sending a vision of a doomed future where she was the last pony standing in a frozen canterlot, she is then sent back to the "summer sun celebration" (episode 1, season 1) to avoid the same fate, twi screws timeline.
-good progress in good time
-lore was solid, slightly complex but still manageable
-the concepts developed were insanely well rounded
-was actually proud of it
-didn't continue it because who knows, I was already extremely unfocused on plenty of topics by this time
RESULT: practically abandoned, I might go back to this if I'm really up to the task.
WHAT NOW?, I FEEL LIKE DRAWING SO I THINK I WANNA DO THAT AGAIN, WHATEVER I DO, I WILL TRY TO DRAW.
If anyone want a sketch of something just leave a message and I might go on with a sketch, I'm trying to do at least one sketch daily.
