Childrens picture book 2nd draftIt was a dark and quiet night,
The stars twinkled and moon shone bright
Deep in the forest, at the top of a hill
Stood a little brown hare, ears propped high and still.
Staring up at the great big sky,
The little hare wondered eyes round and wide
“How could anyone be afraid of such a beautiful night?”
All of a sudden he could hear a small buzz,
And out of the dark popped one, two, three little bugs!
Buzz buzz buzz!
One by one the bugs started to glow,
Sweeping through the sky like glittering flakes of snow!
They tickled his whiskers and rubbed his chin!
With a wiggle of his tail and a very quick spin
He bounced in the air, then raced over the meadow,
Chasing after the little dots of yellow!
Over the pebbles and under roots of a tree,
He ran with the glow flies and giggled with glee
Te He he he!
The night was alive for as far as he could see,
Crickets hopped up as they began to sing!
Chirp Chirpity chirp!
Frogs croaked loud as the hare bounced by,
As they hopped and plopped
