[DAZ3D] - When She Cries by PSK-Photo [DAZ3D] - When She Cries by PSK-Photo
The scene is already a few weeks finished, only my typical 7h rendering over night had not been sufficient by far. Last week I finally made it over 12h, but that wasn't enough. Tried to cover it up as best I could with Photoshop. ;) (Wink)

Her Hair was my first attempt with "Classic Long Hair with dForce".

Thank you so much for your kind words. But I am in all modesty even your opinion, it is my favorite of 2018. I'm really glad that you like it so much.:happybounce:

Yes, it was rendered with my old 970 GTX card:) (Smile) , so it took a bit longer. Well, since today I unfortunately have the card back in again and my 1080ti goes back after 2-3 months of testing. DAZ runs fantastically well with it, but without exception every game causes problems and that is just as important to me as DAZ.Waaaah!

No problem ! I mean all i said PSK :)
I really hope we can enjoy of your good work for a long time !
I'm seeing that both we're working with the same graphic card ^^ The GTX 1080Ti is great and works pretty very well while rendering and other settings , + if you have a powerful processor then much better :)
It's impressive you managed to make made so cool renders with your old GTX , this proves that the power isn't all , you also need the skills and have a good hand for that Clap My congrats again.

With the old card it was often quite annoying when the scene was too big for the 4GB memory. Therefore I seldom used more than 1-2 characters and often reduced the unimportant textures with the "Scene Optimizer" plugin.
Also the render time was much longer, which was annoying especially for preview rendering.

The 1080ti was a good improvement. Unfortunately I have to live with the old 970 again... I have no idea how long it will take until I have a replacement.

Sweating a little...

You just have to know that the hair was made especially for dForce and already behaves and often looks different than most other hair you get.

I'm not at home right now, so I can only roughly describe it from memory.

A large part of the lighting mood already came with the environment. So a dark HDRI in the background (trees & fog) and some candles and I mean 1-2 weak light sources which were positioned far away.

I just repositioned the candles, inserted some new ones and played with the luminosity and color temperature in the shader of the candles and rendered it with iray. But Photoshop also plays a role in the effect, the original didn't quite look like that.
Nothing special, a  mixture of HDR, standard light sources and mesh lights (candles)

Maybe I installed a weak light from the direction of the camera, but I'm not sure at the moment. I'd played around a lot and rejected it again. Had e.g. still torches in the background or a candle right in front, but that all destroyed the mood.

Thank you very much for the detailed response! Greatly helps! Two last questions, if you do not mind, when you say 1-2 weak light sources, were they positioned in the back or sides or front? And were they mesh lights?

And when you say standard light sources and mesh lights (candles) are the standard light sources just point or spot lights?

Thank you again.

Primarily I used one of the promo scenes of the location as a template. Most of the lights were already in there. I changed / moved a few of them at most.

So: there are 2 SpotLights:
- 1: comes from diagonally upper left, from quite far away (1500000 Lumen, 6500k, Spread Angel 60, Light-Geometry: Point)
- 2: comes from diagonally back right (almost in the middle of the flights) from not quite as far away (same settings as 1)

Around the whole picture is a very dark HDRI picture which probably contributes a little to the basic mood

The candles left at the tombstone have a temperature of 5500k and luminance: 20000.0 - 25000.0 (kcd/^2)
To the left of the tombstone, you hardly see a candle with luminance: 50000.0
Behind the model are also candles that are a little darker: 15000.0

Here is a picture with the setup of the SpotLights: www.psk-photo.de/temp/angelsetup.jpg (I will delete the picture in a few weeks). Numbers 1-2 are the Spot-Lights.

Thank you!

I know I thought the same thing when I saw your picture a few days ago. I had finished my project about 3-4 weeks ago, but I didn't find time to render the picture longer than 7 hours (which is not enough). After I saw your picture, I also thought about putting mine aside for a few months before posting it. Precisely because they are too similar. Nuu
