A writer who can never get anything written, a photographer with no formal technique who passes up opportunities at every turn...if anything, I'm strongest as a planner, conceptualizer and world-builder of a certain sort.
I have a tendency to, in my own work, favor the epic and ridiculous and favor the enjoyable over the realistic, but this has been changing a bit lately. I seem to have developed a persistent fascination with ordinary houses and cars and such, all the trappings of typical American middle class life that I never specifically experienced. I also have a fondness for the kind of nondescript or even ugly public buildings that most people simply ignore.
I'm better at absorbing random information on things than I am at understanding people, but I'm working on that. My imagination is so visual that I often wish I had been born a great artist but an awful writer, but I've mostly come to terms with it. I'm a compulsive information gatherer and therefore know way more than most people about aspects of pop culture I've never actually been involved with in-depth. It also makes me dangerously good at stalking people.
That's about it, really.
As of this writing, I have begun my senior year at a university near Boston, but I was born and raised in central Connecticut and that'll always be home to me. I plan to pursue a master's degree in library science through a certain college's program that allows for a concentration in archives work. And then become some sort of archivist. It's about all I can do, really.
