Description

- One interesting aspect of Gen I in Pokémon is how a good number of them are just meant to be... monsters without any real world animal parallel, but out of those the line Abra strikes me as being just like "something", with Abra's very animal-like visage and Kadabra's large tail, and the closest thing that matches a mystical animal with slanted eyes, point ears and yellow would be a mythical fox;

- Pokémon regions are a concept that evolved a bit too large for its own breeches, because it all started as different regions of the same archipelago (like you can join Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh into a Japan-like shape) and the fifth iteration went all the way out putting Unova in the other side of the world and did something ambitious that I love, then Alola created regional variants that are a bit of away between, but Kalos sits right in the middle of those ideas just being a place that has new Pokémon but also old ones despite being, like, half a world away from the original place those Pokémon come from; and on the other hand, it also has a magical fox, except it's more witch-like, and fire typed, and more foxy, but is kind of curious (and probably unintened)

- So this drawing started its journey in my head as a drawing of Delphox and Kadabra side by side in a parallel of magic fox-like monsters, but it ended up being just an exploration of Kadabra if it was less "plastic-like" and more like a kitsune because magic and psychic powers are literally the same thing in Pokémon (Fairy-type nonwithstanding), so that's what you have for today, folks

Thanks for listening to my TED Talk, I guess
