This month marked being a member of DeviantArt for 20 years now! I've also crossed the point where it's now been a part of my life for longer than it hasn't and unless I pack up and leave there's no going back on that. But of all the places and things I'd love to never have anything to do with again - this site is still pretty far down the list, despite it having been past its prime for years now. But I'm definitely "done" in a different way. My last digital artwork was uploaded in 2020 and I have no more planned. I haven't been working on something big this whole time. I haven't been on a spiritual journey. I haven't been abducted by aliens who wanted to know how did I guess what the trees on their planet looked like so accurately. I have just been exhausted and it isn't getting any easier. If I haven't been able to find the time, energy or motivation to create a new one in the last half-decade, then there definitely won't be any in the next which I'm certain won't be any better. With

But a Daily deviation is a pretty solid runner up prize :trophy: Thankyou :devart: for featuring it, and for providing this string of contests with very interesting themes over the past few months. I'm not in any of the current ones, character design isn't a strong point of mine, but it'll be interesting to see who wins, and what themes might be selected for upcoming contests if any!I've been slipping in and out of activity for some time and these contests motivating me to put stuff aside to draw something again have probably been a good influence for me. Too busy with work and other crap I'd gladly cut out of my life if I won the lottery ...
