I love crossovers and I also enjoy animal.plant and mineral mashups. Here's a few.............................................................................................
Sirenid/Sirenia= Or the amphibious Siren fused with the mammalian Sirenia. They're both aquatic with fused limbs.
Triceratops/Rhinoceros= A very popular pairing due to a similar silhouette.
Pterosaur/Bat=The only two non-avian clades that had full flight. Plus, similarities in their wing designs.
Labyrinthodont/Crocodilian=And yet again,similar shape.
i know that most people bash the 80's era as toyetic 20 minute commercials, but I think the 80's are more than that. You'd have to have been a child in the 70's to understand. Hanna Barbera,Filmation and DePatie-Freleng dominated 70's television cartoons along with their constant recycling, rotoscaping, cheap colors,Scooby clones and more songs than a Disney feature film. Minimal violence and conflict compared to the 60's,Hell even Tom and Jerry got neutered! Now,it was different in theaters thanks to Ralph Bakshi and even Nelvana's The Devil and Daniel Mouse, but animation improved with better colors and more fluidity. Theatrical films got darke
One of my biggest peeves is the notion that Fantasy has to be either set in the Middle Ages or pseudo-Middle Ages. It doesn't matter if the garb and tech is not what folk in Medieval Times would actually wear, how vast the Middle Ages actually were(spanning a millenium),understanding that there were different medieval governments with varying ideologies (Al Andalus,Byzantium,Italian Maritime Republics) or that the Middle Ages were not static, ignorant or filthy, but evolving;still people look at the hint of anything medieval and boom it's considered so! Look at other eras,Mary Poppins and Dr Dolittle were set in the Edwardian Era,many fairytales
